Do Online Commentators Give Backlinks And PR Support?

Do Social Network Commentators give support by sharing good related comments and feedback’s?  You bet yah!

This is an old SEO tactic, that’s in demand, directing and re-directing traffic to your blog.

How is that?

If you have a strong community of followers or viewers that constantly comments on your posts or pages on a daily, weekly and/ or monthly basis, this absolutely helps boost up your blog in rankings.

And I am not talking about spamming. We are all, guilty in some way or another spamming without knowing it. There are better ways to apply ourselves toward commenting.

Spamming Get Frowned On!

Don’t get frowned on for spamming.  There are those who abuse the use of comments or they just don’t understand how to use it, in a more user friendly way.  Some tend to place all sort of links and go right for the throat and start talking about there business. Rather than being respectful for the other person’s blog or social media sites.

Most online marketers get upset, seeing all this promotional links on their blog which has nothing to do with their post. This is not the way to do it. Most spammers get banned from other people blogs, and social media sites. So be cool and give a good related remark!

    Hi Lani,

What you have mentioned in your post makes a lot of sense. SEO Quake is truly a great tool for blog commenting and anything that you do that is related to building back links.

    Edmund

    • @Edmund, I appreciate the your input and for those of us who do work online can use help from many resources to enhance our blog, or websites. What is the purpose besides placing valuable content if it doesn’t get recognized by others. Our job as online marketers is to get our message out and share valuable content with others. Great information, Lani. This is info I need to internalize.
A question I have, is when is it appropriate to use other’s info on one’s own blog, and what methods of giving credit are; 1) appropriate, and 2) most effective?

  6. Marty says:

    Hey Lani,
Producing quality and relevant comments on a blog takes some serious work. Reading and processing the written work takes time. I sometimes get tempted to speed read a blog and not fully take in all the information. Sometimes this is due to tiredness and distraction, or my own impatience.
I can see there is a temptation to make shallow remarks with the wrong motivation. Comments need to be generous, constructive and genuine.
If we can’t do that, then it is better not to comment at all.

Great post Lanikee! People don’t realize the power of the comment. And so many marketers who are newbies to the internet with a limited budget don’t realize how much of an impact they can create by simply finding great blogs (like this one) and commenting…It all comes back to you if you’re providing value. Keep rockin’ it!

    Cheers,
    Amy

    • Lani says:

@Amy, great to have you stop by and luv your sweet comment. I think if we take the time to appreciate simple methods as this, then the next step to advance progression online will flow with the motion. Mahalo! Lani 🙂

  9. Denise says:

    Hi Lani,

Leaving a good comment for another blogger is a win win for both parties although there is something about ‘nofollow’ and ‘dofollow’ blogs. If your blog is ‘nofollow’, then people who comment won’t get backlinks to their blog.

I don’t know much else about it but to turn my blog into a ‘dofollow’, I installed a plugin. I think (hope!) it worked 🙂

    Denise

    • Lani says:

@Denise, very true on your statement. But I think most have it as follow, unless you set it up as no follow. Glad you came by and left a sweet comment. thanks! Lani 🙂

    Hey Lani,

Great stuff here for SEO. Backlinks is huge, especially if it’s high PR sites. I always teach people the one page SEO is first, then rock out the off page SEO.

Another thing you can do is something called back link acceleration. Works like a charm for improving your PR. Thanks Lani! FB, pr 10, awesome.

    • Lani says:

@Ryan, Thanks for your sweet comment and input. Yeah, we can do more on this, but just keeping it simple and then progress, once you get into the motion. Glad you came by. Lani 🙂

  11. Lani says:

@Nicholas, Thanks so much for your sweet comment and great suggestion on spamming. If you want to spam do it with style and at least read the post and comment relating to it. That would make it more appropriate. Glad you stopped by. Lani 🙂

    • Curt Bizelli says:

I disagree. All stylish spamming is “is” conversation manipulated so that YOU get what you want! I don’t have any room for that on my blog or in my life. I believe in being authentic and genuine straight the CORE, and I don’t expect anything in return. God Bless!

      • Lani says:

@Curt I appreciate your honest opinion what you feel for you. Communities are set to assist each other and not made for ourselves and growth comes from all. In many different ways we are blessed and accepted. Thanks for your opinion and blessing to you! Lani 🙂

I didn’t know everything you mentioned was possible. It never occurred to me to click on their name to follow them to their page. LoL I would just copy and paste their site, or google their name & find it. LOL sillyyyy meee. 😉 I just checked & my blog does contain the click name link you mentioned. I shall now notice every time I leave a comment elsewhere if this feature is added. Again, thanks for you post & for having come by my blog to Share Yours!!

  16. Hi Lani –

Thanks for the info on SEO, PR, FB, and EIEIO! 🙂 It is all pretty technical out there. Just when you think you have a valuable message to share with others, you find out you need to much more! It is like writing a book… Writing the actual book is relatively easy – it is all the marketing to get it sold that is tough!

I started to use the Socrates theme and that helps.

I appreciate you sharing these ideas – I will be back!

    Great Post Lani,
This gives newbies a good reason to create content as well as network with other professional marketers. By sharing good relevant content your page rank will increase in Google as well as increase you’re reader’s trust in your content. The key is to support a few smart marketers that will reciprocate the comment love!!

    • Lani says:

@Rey, so true and that is what it is all about, other online business marketers doing there homework by traveling the global online community … Lol, to see what others are doing and learning what is working and socially interacting with each other.

Not just hanging out with the gurus, because at one point they did the same and now look where they are. Plus they need us to. We have to start somewhere. Thanks for coming by and I luv your sweet comment. Lani 🙂

  21. Hi Lani,
Great post and I love making comments for people on there articles. It is amazing what we can learn. I like the way you explain the commenting. Oh, I am very happy to meet you, but I can’t take credit for it. You found me first and I thank you. You have a wonderful day and keep the great articles coming. I know I always have much more to learn when it comes to website and blogging. ( I don’t like the site you have to jump through hoops to comment on, if you know what I mean.)
    Thank again,
    Debbie

@Debbie, I appreciate you stopping by and leaving a sweet comment. I enjoy your candor and yep, I am the type where I will go out there and get it and leave only good footprints of mine.

  22. Keith Davis says:

    Hi Lani
First time visitor but I love your site.
Great advice, super graphics and even a video.

I’m a big believer in blog comments… the blogging community was a real revelation to me. Most bloggers will repay a comment with a comment, I always do.

BTW – love your voice on the video.

    • Lani says:

@Keith. glad you came by and shared a sweet comment an opinion. I think if everyone knew the benefits of this, then we all would be doing the same and spreading the comment luv all over.

I notice at times there are a communities of groups, that keep the comments on the same blogs and the search engines recognizes those same links as a registered link, so it may not get counted. Sorta like duplicated content, only one will get chosen. I maybe wrong, but its a thought.

The robots will pick up a new link and alert the search engines on a new premise on your blog. Which makes it better for both.

Thanks for coming by! Lani 🙂

  23. Hi Lani,

Plain and simple, this is a great post!

You expressed in a simple and easy understandable way what the mindset of a true online entrepreneurs should be : you add value by giving honest comments, you share ideas, you don’t spam, you respect other people and you act as someone who is part of a community. That’s a common problem online, because we are all sitting behing our little screen we might think we are alone, actually this couldn’t be further from the truth! Working online (even when you are alone) is working together!

Thanks for sharing this valuable post Lani!

    Success,

    Elmar

    • Lani says:

@Elmar, gosh I really appreciate the compliment on top of your sweet and beautiful comment. You absolute are a professional who are observant and recognize the true value in your business as well as others. Blessings to your business and yes we are all a community that should bound and give value to each other. And not treat our business like corporate America by categorizing ourselves by individual groups.

Strength comes by volume of people coming together and with great leadership. Thanks for coming by and luv all the thoughtfulness and kindness from all. Lani 🙂

  28. Jym says:

    Hey Lani,

Thanks for sharing this informative post.

Personally I’ve found blog commenting useful for three main reasons:

    1. I read lots of amazing content (there’s some fantastic bloggers out there!
    2. I’ve made some great connections and online friendships
    3. It builds up backlinks which is certainly helpful for your own blog or website

So I have to agree with you 100%! Great article and nice to connect with you.

    All the best,

    Jym

  29. Susanna Hess says:

    Hi Lani,

You’re absolutely right. There are lots of great reasons to leave quality comments on another person’s blog.

As the blog owner, it’s also a wonderful thing to reward people for leaving those comments. That’s why I love the “Comment Luv” plugin. 😉

Another fun way to reward people for their comments is to turn our blogs into “Do Follow” blogs. This can be done simply with another plugin, called dofollow. I don’t recommend too many plugins, as this can really slow your blog down, but these are two that I won’t give up.

Like you said, we don’t get the same rewards for commenting on social media sites, but it sure is a great way to build relationships and help each other out. Especially on sites like YouTube, where videos are more recognized and promoted if they have more comments. By doing this, we really stand out to the creator of the post or video.

    Great post Lani!

    Lani,
Awesome post on the power of Page Ranking. I use Google page rank and also Alexa page ranking. Two tools that give me an overview of the activity on a person’s blog.

Comments not only give you backlinks, but they are such a great way to get to know other people out here online. The connections you can build are so empowering.

Thanks for a quick overview of another key aspect of blogging. We all strive for the higher rankings and know we are sharing great content as well when this happens.

    Val 🙂

    • Lani says:

@Val, I admire your valuable input and yes, we are all there to get to know one another and share all our talents in what we have to display. 35. John Walker says:

Hi Lani, I could not agree with you more. I for one agree with you assessment about building strong backlinks, not just backlinks for the sake of backlinks. You said it best…

“Most online marketers get upset, seeing all this promotional links on their blog which has nothing to do with their post. This is not the way to do it. Most spammers get banned from other people blogs, and social media sites. So be cool and give a good related remark!”

I am attempting to build strong backlinks for me site and look at content like that on your site to comment about.

Hi Lani , I just wanted to come by and see what your up to today! You know I haven’t really paid much attention to SEO and pr before. I just start blabbing on my blog and hope like hell it makes sense and that it may be of use to someone. I still didn’t really get the pr part…is the higher number best or the other way round? I think it’s pretty cool you’ve got this post as the one on the video, sort of like looking in a mirror.

Thank you so much for the Extra Crap I have to pay attention to now!(grin)
    Your new friend, kim

    • Lani says:

@Kim… Lol look what you’re missing out on, all this fun of SEO and PR. All fun set aside this is important to your blog and if you automatically got folks visiting you and adding comments then I would keep babbling on.

Oh as for the PR – any ranking 2 and higher is good on your blog, that means you are absolutely getting some traffic of visitors. Thanks for coming by! Lani 🙂
